Degree Program: Master of Arts in English (ENGA) 30 cr.
The Master of Arts in English offers students an advanced program of study with a specialization in literature in English. The program stresses contemporary literary theories, as well as sound practices in research and writing. While many students are part-time, the degree may be completed in two years. For additional flexibility, credit is awarded for supervised independent study, research conducted with a faculty member, and independent research culminating in a master’s thesis.

- ENGL 505 – Contemporary Literary Theory and Methods
- ENGL 550 – Seminar in Poetry
Elective Coursework (24 credits)
- At least 18 credits at the 500- or 600-level
Students are also permitted to take up to 2 courses outside of the TCNJ MA English program. These courses may be offerings from other graduate programs at TCNJ or classes offered at other university graduate programs (acceptance of these credits is subject to permission by the TCNJ English graduate director).
