National Standardized Admission Test Requirement
Applicants to the M.Ed. Teacher of Students with Blindness or Visual Impairment program are required to take the GRE unless they meet criteria of the waiver policy. The GRE is waived for individuals seeking the post-master’s certificate program.
Applicants should request that a score report be sent to The College of New Jersey (Code #R2519). The test scores must arrive by the application deadline. Test scores may not be more than five years old.

Prerequisite Courses
Courses in teaching reading and child psychology are required prerequisites for applicants who are not already certified in special education.
Copy of Teacher Certification
Applicants to the Teacher of Students with Blindness or Visual Impairment programs must provide the specified teaching certificate.

CEAS or standard certificate in special, elementary, secondary education with a teachable major or content area is required for applicants.
