First-year and transfer applicants may apply for accelerated bachelor's to master's degrees. Admission into the graduate portion of the program is based on performance at the undergraduate level. Current undergraduate TCNJ students may be eligible for an accelerated program by meeting program requirements and should consult with the intended program’s coordinator for more information.

Applications are due in the Fall of your Junior year (October 15th). Applications are due to the English Department—not the Office of Graduate Studies—through the application on the MA website.
You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall and a 3.4 for English classes at TCNJ.
Application requirements include:
- A completed application
- 2 letters of recommendation from TCNJ faculty members (one must be from the English department) who can evaluate the candidate’s research and writing skills
- Unofficial transcripts from TCNJ
- A writing sample (a piece of analytical writing from a 300- or 400-level course at TCNJ–submitted without any grade or comments).
- Students applying for this program do not need to take GREs, and you do not have to pay an application fee.
- Applicants will be notified by October 30th with admission decisions in time for Summer registration.
- Online application and all supplemental documents must be submitted to the English Department.
