Who Should Pursue This Program?

This program is designed for part- and full-time students preparing for professional careers and also for working professionals. Connecting two fields of study via your chosen certificate programs will equip you with enhanced perspective and insight into each while ultimately culminating in a customized master’s degree that best fits your needs. This is a particularly attractive option if you’ve already completed one TCNJ certificate program and would like to pursue an advanced degree.

For your application to be considered complete, you must submit the online application and all supplemental documents.

National Standardized Admission Test Requirement and Waivers: Applicants to the Master of Arts in Professional Studies program are required to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Records Examination (GRE). The tests must have been taken within the last five years. [Target range GMAT 540+ or GRE 310+] We waive the standardized testing requirements (GMAT/GRE) when the applicant meets one of the following criteria:

  • already has an earned graduate-level degree (master’s or another higher-level degree);
  • earned a bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA;
  • earned a bachelor’s degree from another regionally accredited college/university with at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA;
  • earned at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA (with no grades lower than B) at TCNJ through two graduate courses in non-matriculated status or a certification program. The most recent academic experience at TCNJ will prevail.
