Certificate in Public Policy
Humanities and Social Sciences
The 15-credit, five-course Certificate in Public Policy prepares you to engage in policy research, analysis, management, and program evaluation, providing a solid foundation in the concepts of policymaking as well as the key analytic tools necessary to evaluate policy proposals and program implementation. Once you complete this certificate and meet the minimum grade requirements, you can also apply these courses to TCNJ’s Master of Public Policy.
Program Coordinator : Daniel Bowen, bowend@tcnj.edu
This program is for professionals, recent graduates, and TCNJ seniors who want specialized training in policy analysis and policymaking but who may not be ready to commit to a master’s program. It’s an attractive option if you work in government, public affairs and advocacy, the nonprofit arena, public health, education, business, or other fields heavily influenced by public policy.
Study alongside peers with public policy experience, learn from faculty with valuable contacts in their field, and benefit from an alumni community with strong professional connections. Opportunities abound at the New Jersey State House, numerous state agencies, and policy organizations located in the Trenton–Ewing region.
For your application to be considered complete, you must submit the online application and all supplemental documents.
We consider applications on a space-available basis. You can apply up to and including the first day of the semester.
The Graduate Studies site provides curriculum for this program.
We offer the same tuition rates no matter where you live. And there are a range of financial aid and assistantship options for TCNJ graduate students.
