This 21-credit program fulfills curriculum requirements for the New Jersey Student Assistance Coordinator Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing. Be prepared to provide in-school assessment; crisis intervention and counseling; and referral services to students experiencing personal, family, or peer difficulties. Courses can be taken as part of, or in addition to, the required courses needed for the 60-credit master’s program in counseling.

Who Should Pursue This Program?

This certificate is suited for you if you would like to work with students experiencing personal, family, or peer difficulties and you plan to apply for the New Jersey SAC CEAS (which will be supplied by the NJ Department of Education). Program applicants must meet the admission requirements of TCNJ’s Department of Counselor Education.

  • National Standardized Admission Test: Applicants are only recommended to take the GRE if their undergraduate GPA is below 3.0.
