Public Policy Curriculum

For both MPP and the Accelerated BA/MPP.

The 36-credit master’s program consists of:

Policy Core (15 credits)

  • PUBG 50 I The Policy Process in Theory and Practice
  • PUBG 502 Public Budgeting & Management
  • PUBG 503 Microeconomics & Public Policy
  • PUBG 696 Thesis (6 credits, two semesters)

Quantitative Methods (6–9 credits)

  • PUBG 510 Quantitative Methods for Policy Research I (exempted for most 5-Year BA/MPP students)
  • PUBG 511 Program Evaluation and Causal Inference for Policy Analysis
  • PUBG 512 Quantitative Methods for Policy Research II

Methods Elective (0–3 credits)

Choose one if Quantitative Methods I is exempted (0–3 credits)
